“Everything” Search Engine (FREE!)

“Everything” is an incredible piece of free software that has gotten a lot of publicity lately. Besides being free, it is incredible how small of a file it is to download and how quickly it installs. But the most incredible thing, besides the fact that it will find files on your local drives instantly, is the fact that it only takes seconds to index your entire computer contents after you install it and use it for the first time. Fast computers could take literally a few seconds and slow computers with more than a normal amount of files could take 60 seconds I suppose, but I’m not sure because I haven’t seen it take nearly that long. After that, searches are instant.

Everything is dramatically faster than any other search engine to install and use. The only downside to it is it only searches files and folders by filename. It does not search file contents.
